Dental Bridge
A Dental Bridge is a great solution to replace missing teeth that can give you a beautiful smile.
What is a Dental Bridge?
If you’re someone who has multiple missing teeth in one area and lives in the San Antonio area, a simple fix is to have them replaced with a single dental bridge, usually secured by implants. There is also another option for securing a dental bridge (see below).
Bridges are usually made of porcelain or metal, a mixture of the 2, or zirconia. This will allow you to easily replace all missing teeth with lovely fully secured new teeth.
Not only will this restore your ability to eat and chew, but it’ll also give you a brand-new smile that you and those around you will absolutely love!
Other Bridge Options
If you prefer to not use implants, the bridge is attached to the teeth on either side of the gap. You can do this type of dental bridge if you have missing teeth and have healthy teeth on either side of the gap left by the missing teeth.
What happens during this type of dental bridge procedure?
First, the dentist will examine the mouth and ensure any tooth decay or gum disease are treated. X-rays will be done and measurements of the teeth and mouth.
The healthy teeth on either side of the gap will be used to secure the bridge.
What’s great about replacing your missing teeth with a dental bridge vs. removable partial dentures is the fact that they don’t require cleaning or soaking. They’ll also look and function like normal teeth.

The 3-step procedure for dental bridges with implants:
Step #1: Insert All Implants
During the first stage, the jawbone will need to be accessed so all implants can be inserted.
Once inserted, temporary teeth or healing caps will be put into place while the area heals. Over the next 2-6 months the implants and the bone will be allowed to heal and naturally bond together.
Step #2: Attach Abutments
Once the implants are healed and in place, the next stage is uncovering the implants, removing any healing caps or temporary teeth, and attaching the abutments.
The abutments will go into the implants and allow for the new dental bridge to securely connect to the implants.
Step #3: Attach Dental Bridge
In the final stage, and after the abutments are in place and allowed to heal for a few weeks, the dental bridge that’s been created to replace your previous teeth can finally be attached and secured to the abutments. Your new dental bridge will restore the confidence in your smile and allow you to eat, chew and speak in a natural and confident way.
